For work trucks, fast idle enables auxiliary equipment to function efficiently off of the engine without backup power sources. The applications for electronic throttles are too numerous to list, but include air conditioners, lifts, vacuums, hydraulic systems, pumps, and many other devices. With various fast idle options, InPower's throttles will enable the vehicle to get the extra power it needs while in a locked stationary position.
Work trucks utilize many types of chassis. InPower's line of electronic throttle controls are designed for use on all three major North American manufacturers truck and van chassis: Ford, GM, and Dodge.
InPower throttles are the ideal choice for work trucks. They do not require special programming. They are fully electronic and work off of the engine data bus, meaning they communicate with the vehicle's computer for control. InPower throttles are small, so will not take up valuable space for specialized equipment. Lastly, they require several safety steps to function, meaning that the vehicle is absolutely secure for operation.
However, many companies rely solely on InPower to provide fast idle for all of their work trucks.

Because of the large power draw necessitated by specialized equipment on work trucks, it is a good idea to monitor battery voltage and current. In fact, any vehicle that has high battery loads can benefit from current sensing and battery monitoring to ensure loads do not exceed available battery power.
InPower’s method of electronic current sensing uses a Hall effect based sensor with an electronic interface. This sensing does not produce heat and is non-intrusive to the electrical system. DC current sensors work with both analog and digital meters. Our digital battery monitors display battery voltage, have a low-battery voltage alarm, and dual DC ammeter display.

The VCM08 is a universal dual output wig wag flasher, part of our Vehicle Control Module (VCM) family. It can be used for either halogen or LED lights, and has a standard automotive relay pin format. It can be used on wreckers, or other vehicles with flashers. This low-cost and simple solution also has over current and short circuit protection.

InPower's Vehicle Control Module (VCM) family is simply a collection of solid state devices for controlling vehicle functions. There are latching relays, and timers, which are used in all sorts of vehicle functions from audio control, and spotlights, to heaters and sirens. Multiple VCM units can be used on every work truck for control of various systems and auxiliary equipment. Everything in our relays and timers is 100% electronic and has safety features to protect the electrical system. These VCM units are small, have a standard automotive pin layout, and are low-cost.

For utility service and contracting work, the costs of work stoppage and lost labor can be monumental when a vehicle's battery dies. Why take that risk? InPower's line of Low Voltage Disconnects continuously monitors battery voltage, meaning these 100% electronic units have an instant response when there is decreased battery power. They will turn off and on at certain power thresholds, ensuring that the battery remains charged no matter what.

Work trucks have high power loads requiring safety devices like disconnect switches and DC contactors for efficient power switching and to protect the electrical system. Electronic protections included with our products include fault shutdown for over current, low voltage, and short circuit. This means that when a fault condition occurs, the load will be disconnected to maintain electrical system integrity. Shunts and mechanical contactors do not offer such protections, and have many levels of failure.
Our dual UltraSwitch products are ideal for use as a battery disconnect switch for chassis and body circuits. They contain two individually controlled high efficiency power switches that are available in capacities from 75 amps to 200 amps.
Single switch contactors are ideal for shut-off of individual loads such as lifts or other auxiliary equipment. Models range from 80 amp to 200 amp capacities.

InPower's Vehicle Control Module System (VCMS) is an advanced and affordable way to configure numerous electrical system functions into a convenient switch panel and power module. It is highly flexible: lights, sirens, heaters, and flashers are just some of the devices that can be controlled with a VCMS. This system is totally configurable for each vehicle. It is appropriate for any type of work truck.
