The VCMS-APM Analog Power Module (APM) is a component of the InPower Vehicle Control Module System (VCMS). It can be used in a VCMS configuration networked to other VCMS products or it can be programmed to operate as a stand-alone module. The APM contains four 15 amp 12 volt power outputs, four digital inputs (ground or +12 volt actuated), and one analog input for measuring DC current from an InPower DCS35 Series current sensor. The APM can be programmed to take control actions bases on measured values of DC current such as a battery charging or discharging.
The APM also is available as a stand-alone battery amp-hour monitoring system. It consists of a VCMS-APM Analog power module, a DCS35 Series current sensor and a special application program. The system monitors battery voltage, and via the current sensor, the battery charging and discharging current. The software continuously monitors these parameters and calculates the battery's state of charge (SOC) in percent (a fully charged battery would be 100 percent). The system outputs allow control actions to be taken such as load shedding or alarm activation.
